Starting out as a new beauty blogger, I could never really figure out why “empties” posts were everywhere you looked. Pretty much every blogger out there will routinely post pictures of products they’ve used up over the previous month. I enjoyed reading these posts – it’s always interesting to see exactly what people are using – but I just didn’t get it.
But now, post-No Buy August, I have come to know the extreme joy of EMPTIES. Squeezing out the last of something and feeling the victory that comes with finishing an ENTIRE bottle of product. Which, of course, potentially makes room for other, new and more exciting, products.
Without further adieu, and better late than never, here are my September Empties:
Pretty good for one month, huh? I have to say, I really love the Suave Professionals line and immediately scrounged up a coupon and bought the Moroccan Oil shampoo & conditioner. The Aveeno facial wipes were great, too – once I get through my skincare stash, they will definitely be high on the Repurchase List.
One thing I can go the rest of my life without? The CoverGirl mascara. It just wouldn’t go away. Not with any makeup remover on my shelf, not with serious scrubbing. It. Stayed. On. And then continuously flaked off for days afterwards. To be fair, it does say “24 Hour” right there on the tube, and boy, they aren’t kidding. It just wasn’t the product for me – but if you like that grunge-chic (very 90’s and very in right now!) look of mascara piled on top of old mascara, this might be the product for you.
Do you keep track of your “empties”? What’s something you’ve recently finished up that you’re planning on buying again?
Cheers and Happy Friday =)
